Vision and Mission

GC Housing was born out of the realisation that unless African Countries and Institutions utilise customer Western Technology and expertise with an African perspective, prospects for economic growth and development would be minimal.  The need for technology, training and policies that are relevant to South Africa and the other countries in the region cannot be over emphasised. The company is uniquely positioned to provide technical and professional services that are pertinent to South Africa, based on its depth of knowledge and experience in region in particular, and the continent in general.

The company was also created as an attempt to address the historical imbalances in South Africa, especially in the technical arena of delivering development projects and programmes.

GC HOUSING endorses and particles the Quality Management System which is based upon SABS ISO 9002 code of practice for Quality management Systems.

 The Quality System at GC HOUSING is subdivided in two main functions, mainly: that of assurance and control.  The establishment and maintenance of the Quality System Documentation govern the assurance.

The effectiveness of control instituted is monitored by the regular review and analysis of the Quality System.  The review also ensures that the in process inspection function comply with the Quality System Requirements.

 The Quality Service rendered by GC HOUSING over the years has been responsible for the growth characterized by an increased number of projects handled and staff employed by the company.

New investment in the country, as well as the implementation of the needed development programmes provided opportunities for the company to effectively complete on the basis of performance and competence.

 GC Housing employs its own internal Quality Control Officers. Our work goes through a stringent inspection process before we call for the Client representatives for their inspections.

Skills Transfer and Capacity Building

GC HOUSING accepts the responsibility to take an active part in the empowerment and development of disadvantage communities.  Through job creation and capacity building, to inculcate a culture of productive activity, this dispels the handout syndrome.

GC HOUSING has an established track record of working on projects with a view to combining resources and expertise of previously disadvantaged communities to the benefit of all parties.  It is fundamental principle of the company that all projects will be structural to facilitate the transfer of skills and technology, in a sustainable manner.

We believe that the broader concept of skills and empowerment is essential as local previously disadvantaged communities are to be able to maximise on the opportunities presented in Eastern Cape and KwaZulu Natal as the result of the bold initiative being taken in the Provinces to spearhead meaningful development in the regions.

 The different skills in the Company will be networked throughout the execution of any project in such a way that local communities will be technically enriched and empowered as a result of working with the Company.
